In association with the Faternal Order of Police 171, Twenty-Two-Sixteen.com is a online source for all of the events, information, and most of all a dedication to the life, legacy, and sacrifice of Officer Frank C. Denzinger. We will continue to remember the dedication and honor the spirit of what the badge number 22-16 represents for the local community and the national law enforcement family. 22-16 represents more then just a call number it represents the way Officer Denzinger served his community.
ABOUT FRANK C. DENZINGER
Floyd County Police Officer Frank C. Denzinger was shot and killed when he responded to a domestic disturbance in Edwardsville, Indiana. Officer Denzinger and Officer Joel White where in the driveway of a residence speaking to the homeowner and another relative. The homeowner's son was inside the residence and began shooting at Denzinger and White with a military rifle. Denzinger heard the first shot and pushed the shooter's relative to safety before seeking cover. Denzinger was hit in the ankle which dropped him toward the ground, he was then shot in the back and died in the next few minutes. Officer Joel White was shot in the hip and later recovered.The suspect committed suicide in the home a short time later. Officer Denzinger had served the Floyd County Police 5 years
as a patrolman. He is survived by his wife, 3-year-old daughter,
parents, and two sisters.
